Built in the early 1900’s “Cottawalla” is the original name given to this lovely two bedroom upper Blue Mountains cottage, situated just a stone’s throw away from the town of Blackheath. It was built as a cottage for the manager/caretaker to Glenella Guesthouse, which is located next door.
Cottawalla has had much care and a number of renovations over the years and features a vibrant garden, which produces fresh fruit, veggies and herbs.
It is a charming and character-filled home which does not skimp on creature comforts, including a smart TV, wi-fi, a stereo, a fully equipped kitchen and laundry, a full-size bath to luxuriate in, ducted gas heating, a gas log fireplace in the sitting room, underfloor heating in the bathroom, electric blankets on the beds, original artworks on the walls to enjoy and much more!
It is a 3-minute walk up to the restaurants and cafes (“Fumo” Blackheath’s own hatted restaurant is literally across the road), shops and galleries of Blackheath and the jaw-dropping Govetts Leap lookout is at the end of the street. There are dozens of fantastic bush walks for every fitness level nearby, including Blackheath’s iconic “Grand Canyon”.
